Community Organizers Converge to Protest Deportations and Call for the Right to Return

Cambodian, Southeast Asian, Asian Pacific Islander, and Latinx Communities Unite To Demand Family Unity

Tacoma, WA- Organizers, activists, fighters and believers from around the country and across Washington state, will converge in Tacoma to rally against detentions and deportations, and call for the right to return of deported communities and families. This event is co-sponsored and supported by over 40 organizations nationwide. The rally will occur at the infamous Northwest Detention Center where many members of the Cambodian and other immigrant and refugee communities are transferred from many places around the country, as their last stop before deportation and often permanent separation from home and loved ones.
The organizers call the event STAND TOGETHER 4 LOVE to build unity and solidarity amongst the movement for humanity and dignity. Northwest Detention Center is significant for many immigrant and refugee communities, because people are locked up, people are separated from their families, and then deported from this site. For many communities around the nation this location represents broken hearts, crushed dreams, and inhumanity.
