In commemoration of the 64th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights this year, the US Human Rights Network is highlighting 64 member and partner organizations as a way to raise awareness about the domestic human rights movement.
Human rights are fundamentally tied to environmental rights. Every person has the right to live in a community with clean air, clean water and clean land, and where basic needs and economic development do not result in increased risk of illness, death, or ecosystem destruction. - New Mexico Environmental Law Center
This week we feature the work of two environmental justice groups: the New Mexico Environmental Law Center and the Environment and Human Rights Advisory. We also highlight the work of groups in the Gulf Coast, many of which address environmental human rights violations: Survivors Village, Coastal Women for Change, Moving Forward Gulf Coast, In., and the Advocates for Environmental Human Rights.
Join us in supporting the work of these organizations. You can make a donation to the organization, forward this mailing, share their Facebook highlights, and retweet daily on Twitter using the hashtag #64DaysHR.
