USHRN members and staff participated in the 50th Anniversary March on Washington on Saturday, August 24.  Tens of thousands crowded the National Mall for a rally in front of the Lincoln Memorial and the march from Lincoln Memorial to the Washington Monument.  Speakers for the event included Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), the only surviving speaker from the original 1963 event, and USHRN Board member Martin Luther King, III. See our photo gallery from the day's events below!

The 50th Anniversary Coalition for Jobs, Justice, and Freedom plans a 7-day commemoration of the historic 1963 March on Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.  The commemoration will take place August 21 - 28, 2013. Join USHRN as we partner with National Action to Realize the Dream to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington and call on the U.S. Government to ensure that everyone in the U.S. can vote, attend a good school, make a living wage, and enjoy all of the rights necessary to live with dignity.
