UPR Reports

This page includes the reports produced jointly by civil society organizations across the United States as well as those from the United Nations directly related to the Universal Periodic Review of the United States of America.  The UN’s UPR Review of the United States is based on three background documents, utilized by all UN state delegates, which are listed under the UN reports section and incorporate the civil society "stakeholder" reports.

The 25 USHRN-coordinated stakeholder reports lay out the existing human rights frameworks in the U.S.; note the lack of a coordinating authority or other adequate monitoring and enforcement mechanisms; highlight significant and specific shortcomings in domestic compliance with international human rights standards; and make recommendations on how the U.S. can better meet those standards and live up to its treaty obligations.
