From the National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty:
We had our Tent Cities, Homelessness & Human Rights Webinar Thursday, [March 6, 2014] highlighting our federal advocacy as part of the Human Rights at Home Campaign. More than 250 advocates, officials from every level of government, legal, service, and grassroots organizations participated. Amy Sawyer, with the US Interagency Council on Homelessness, emphasized the concrete steps they and other agencies have taken in response to our demands through the ICCPR process. Though focused on homelessness, our federal advocacy using treaty mechanisms presents a model that can be used with other agencies whatever your issue. We are making human rights real!
