The International Human Rights Clinic (IHRC) at NYU Law School has released a report, "Nourishing Change: Fulfilling the Right to Food in the United States." Coming at a time when Congress is debating cuts to key nutrition assistance programs, which threaten to push millions of low-income families into deeper crisis, the report includes key policy recommendations to strengthen – rather than undermine – the existing food safety net and calls on the U.S. Government to adopt a national strategy to fulfill the right to adequate food for all Americans. The report reflects IHRC’s interviews with some of the nation’s leading food policy experts and anti-hunger advocates and features the testimonies of food insecure individuals and families to illustrate both the depth and impact of America’s food security crisis.
