Advancing Human Rights: A Report Card Assessing Human Rights in the US

On International Human Rights Day, the US Human Rights Network (USHRN) released our preliminary findings for a new status report on the state of human rights in the United States. The report concludes that the United States government is falling short of its international human rights obligations and failing to implement adequate policies and protections that would secure and fulfill human rights for all. For 2015, USHRN has decided to use the format of a report card, grading the US on various issues as well as international human rights recommendations from the UN. We hope that readers will use the report as an organizing tool to strengthen and grow a people-centered human rights movement in the US towards a society where all people and Peoples can enjoy the full spectrum of human rights.
