Since Hurricane Katrina, our school system has drastically changed, and in many cases NOT for the better. Many of our children's rights are being violated by the school to prison pipeline.
JOIN US in a conversation/training as we receive information and training about our rights to education and dignity, so that as community members we can ensure our voices are heard and our rights are not violated!
As our school system rebuilds it is vital that we know and understand our human rights too...
EDUCATION: "Everyone has the right to education." The goal of education must be, "the full development of the human personality and the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms." (based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights)
Presenter: Liz Sullivan from the National Economic and Social Rights Initiative
