In commemoration of the 64th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights this year, the US Human Rights Network is highlighting 64 member and partner organizations as a way to raise awareness about the domestic human rights movement.
Since our start on October 8th, we have highlighted 42 organizations as a part of our 64 Day Campaign for Human Rights. For the remaining 22 days, we will continue to feature organizations promoting human rights issues and struggles here in the United States as we count down to International Human Rights Day on December 10th.
This week we feature the work of three organizations promoting the human rights and dignity of LGBTQI people: the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Southerners on New Ground, and SPARK. And we highlight the work of three Disability Rights groups: Self Advocates Becoming Empowered, Voices of the Heart, Inc., and the Center for the Human Rights of Users and Survivors of Psychiatry. We also lift up the work of the Human Rights Project at the Urban Justice Center.
