Action Alert - Urgent HUD McKinney Reauthorization Calls Needed Now Senators Jack Reed (D-RI) and Christopher Bond (R-MO) will offer an amendment later today to reauthorize the McKinney programs administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Senator Reed's amendment would add S. 808, the HEARTH Act, to S. 896, a bill that amends FHA loan and foreclosure mitigation programs. The HEARTH Act would make a number of important improvements to the McKinney Act programs administered by HUD. Calls are needed now to your Senator. Ask them to support passage of the Reed/Bond amendment to S. 808. To contact your Senator, contact the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121, and ask to be connected to the Senator from your state. For more information, contact Laurel Weir at the National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty or by phone at 202-638-2535 x210.
