HRE USA and the US Human Rights Network warmly invite public participation in the second in a series of events to re-visit the Stakeholder Report on the Status of Human Rights Education. This consultative report was prepared for the second cycle of the U.S. Universal Periodic Review (UPR) and can be found along with an executive summary and an explanation about what the UPR is at goo.gl/kQUH2P

There will be two expert panels composed of educators and representatives from the governmental and nongovernmental sectors who are engaged in education and training for human rights. Panelists and participants will dialogue about existing practices, accomplishments and strategies for promoting human rights in curriculum, in teacher training, and in our schools and universities.

If you were involved in the UPR, we are still engaged and committed to HRE in the USA! The follow-up phase is essential and your participation valuable to realize the recommendations from the previous UPR cycle. If you weren’t, it is also excellent period to participate as we will work on implementation and prepare for the midterm review.
