Politicians of the day seem to be obsessed with democracy. This workshop will examine, what is democratic participation, how the media and media messaging has replaced the word “capitalism” with “democracy.” It will also touch on the Iraqi war and challenge US domination and the assumption that the US or any other Northern power can force “democracy” on other countries using war or any other type of coercion.
