A Coordinating Center team of staff, interns and volunteers based in Atlanta and New York manages the day-to-day work of USHRN. We are a team of thematic experts, organizers, education specialists, trainers, communications experts, and human rights activists. In 2012, Ejim Dike, formerly Director of the Urban Justice Center Human Rights Program, joined USHRN as its Executive Director, bringing with her a new vision and renewed energy. In 2016, Ejim Dike announced her plans to transition out of the her role as Executive Director. USHRN is pleased to announce the hire of its third Executive Director, Colette Pichon Battle, and is looking forward to continuing the progress it has made towards strengthening and growing a people-centered human rights movement in the United States. A Board of Directors governs USHRN made up of grassroots activists, long-time community organizers, and leading human rights experts.
USHRN's membership is the engine that drives the work and the direction of the organization. Please go to our Members section to learn more about our members. And read our core principles and code of conduct that guide our human rights movement building work here.
