U.S. Government Periodic ICERD Report to the United Nations

On June 12, 2013, the U.S. Government submitted its Periodic ICERD Report to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD), which oversees compliance with the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).  The U.S. Government ratified this treaty in 1994.

USHRN's Coordinating Center will kick start our collective work in response to the report, renew our call for a National Plan of Action for Racial Justice, continue to think about how to push for full and meaningful implementation of ICERD, and use human rights mechanisms for movement building.

Stay tuned for more information about the shadow reporting process and how we all can use ICERD to promote racial justice and human rights in our communities.
